Take a little time for yourself

Add massage into your life, it supports the mind and spirit connection by allowing the body to rest and restore.

Rejuvenate

When we 'rejuvenate' we make like new : We restore our bodies to freshness.  In this modern, hectic world and lifestyle we now lead, sometimes we forget to actually just stop, breath and rejuvenate ourselves to get back to a healthy state.

Renew

The ‘renew’ meaning sheds light on the principles of mind, body and soul experience - ‘giving a fresh start or giving strength’.

Often our bodies, minds and spirits are screaming at us to help renew ourselves but we push through all the pain, discomfort, stress, frustration and warning signs; often until we are so broken it takes a fair amount of time to work through in restoring our inner and outer calm.

Some of the benefits through renewing yourself include; decreasing our stress and anxiety levels and assisting with insomnia and reducing pain/ discomfort.

Calmness often can only be found when we take time out to care for ourselves.

Restore

Massage therapy is a practice of manipulating a persons muscles and other soft tissue to assist and restore the body back to its natural state.

Massage can assist with problem areas like painful backs, and rehabilitation from soft tissue injuries.  It also can assist in settling the parasympathetic nervous system which is sometimes referred to as the rest and digestive system.

Relax

Everyone needs time in their everyday lives to chill out and enjoy themselves, but it’s easy to forget to relax when things get busy.

Taking time out, be present, and getting a massage is a great benefit to assist with relaxing and looking after yourself.

Knowing how to chill out and relax is important for your mental and physical health, particularly if you’re going through a stressful time.

If you make some chill-out time, you can expect to, keep your stress levels in check, sleep better, improve your mood, improve your memory and concentration.

Welcome to Massage at Higher Health Wellness Centre

Massage is perhaps one of the oldest healing traditions. Many ancient peoples – including the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians – were convinced of the therapeutic properties of massage and used it to treat a variety of ailments.

Massage therapy  is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.

The term ‘massage therapy’ is used to describe a wide variety of techniques that vary in the manner in which touch, pressure and the intensity of the treatment is applied.

MIND

Stressed and tired out

Most people would agree a massage makes them feel good.  One reason is that massage has a positive effect on our mental health.  Our mind power is one of the most useful powers we possess.

Thoughts are energy, they are powerful. The very thoughts running through your mind can help to manifest the life of your dreams, while having a massage most people can let go of their worries and just be, this allows you time to heal both mentally and physically.

Benefits of Massage

One of the immediate benefits of massage is a feeling of deep relaxation and calm. This occurs because massage prompts the release of endorphins – the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters) that produce feelings of wellbeing.

Levels of stress hormones, such as adrenalin, cortisol, and norepinephrine, are also reduced. Studies indicate that high levels of stress hormones impair the immune system.

Some of the physical benefits of massage include:

  • reduced muscle tension

  • improved circulation

  • stimulation of the lymphatic system

  • reduction of stress hormones

  • relaxation

  • increased joint mobility and flexibility

  • improved skin tone

  • improved recovery of soft tissue injuries

  • heightened mental alertness

  • reduced anxiety and depression.

BODY Massage

Therapy for Health

It may simply look like a lot of pressing and kneading on skin, but massage is actually a scientific process. The reason you feel different after a massage is because it is healing and invigorating tired, aching or injured muscles. Massage increases blood and lymph circulation.

Lymph is a fluid that rids body tissues of waste, is dependent on the squeezing effect of muscles. An active person has better lymph flow than an inactive person.

However, stimulation from vigorous activity can lead to increased waste, which can negate the benefit. This is where massage has a huge advantage. Massage can dramatically aid lymph movement, which together with blood, supplies nutrients and oxygen and rids wastes and toxins. It is easy to understand why good circulation is so important to our health and why massage can be so beneficial just for this purpose.

SPIRIT
